The Substation
The Substation is Singapore’s first contemporary, independent, multi-disciplinary arts space, established in 1990. The Substation remains unique for its commitment to experimentation in all art forms, presenting and co-presenting a wide range of artists and programmes, whilst continually striving to play a leading role in nurturing young artists in Singapore and being a platform for critical debate on the arts. The emphasis on a close and supportive creative relationship with the artist and an element of risk-taking in art are characteristics that make The Substation a unique space in Singapore.
